Attic Rodent Infestation
The most common Rodent found on the Treasure Coast is the roof rat. And as its name suggests it frequently finds harborage in south Florida attics. Once a population is established they reproduce rapidly and a small problem can turn into a large infestation very quickly. These rodents can climb and jump extremely well and fit through openings smaller then a ½ inch in diameter. There are ways to “manage” populations and keep numbers down, for example poison baits( which can cause rats to die in inaccessible areas and smell for days even weeks,) and traps, but these methods are not 100% exclusion and they require constant maintenance and cost and will never get rid of all the rats. At Treasure Coast Trapping we will thoroughly investigate insuring that all possible entry/access points are completely sealed with rodent proof, high quality, rust free materials and that any rodents sealed inside the attic are trapped out promptly and efficiently (This is the only way to ensure 100% elimination and exclusion.) After the trapping period (about 7-10 days) a monitor will be placed in the attic to ensure there is no further activity and ensure a rodent free environment for years to come. These monitors can be left in the attic and routinely checked by one of our technicians or even the home owner.
